How Delivery Timing Is Calculated

One of the biggest questions clients ask is: “How does sojo know when to ship my products?”

The answer comes down to three things working together:

  • Your install timing
  • Your delivery day
  • Your shipping transit time

Once those are set, sojo automatically calculates when orders need to ship so your team always has what they need—right when they need it.

Let’s walk through how it works.

🔄 Install Timing

First, we determine when your team installs amenities in the home. This tells us whether deliveries should align with guest arrival or guest departure.

1. Departure-Based Installation *Most Popular

Amenities are delivered for every check-out.

This is usually the best fit if:

  • You install amenities during departure cleans
  • Amenities are standardized across all types of stays

2. Arrival-Based Installation

Amenities are delivered before every check-in.

This is typically the right fit if:

  • Inspectors install products
  • Your amenities differ based on stay attributes (like guest type, duration of stay and more)

📦 Your Shipping Flow, Step-by-Step

Once install timing is set, here’s how the delivery timeline works.

1️⃣ Cutoff Date

The cutoff date is the final day that sojo will account for:

  • New reservations
  • Changes to existing bookings
  • Cancellations

Any reservation activity after this time will be handled by your backstock or included in the next shipment.

The cutoff ensures we have enough time to process orders and ship your products before they’re needed.

2️⃣ Ship Date

After the cutoff passes, we generate your shipment and send it out from our warehouse in Clarksville, TN.

Ship dates are based on your delivery plan and the transit time to your location.

3️⃣ Transit Time

Shipments are sent via UPS Ground, and transit time depends on your market.

You can reference our Transit Time Map to see how long shipments typically take to reach your area.

📍 Example

Let’s look at a real example to make this easier to visualize.

Location: Colorado
Delivery plan: Weekly before departure
Delivery day: Thursday
Transit time: ~3 days

Here’s how that plays out:

  • Cutoff: Sunday at 11:59 PM
  • Ship Date: Monday

Any reservations added or modified before Sunday night will be included in that week’s shipment.

Anything after that will be included in your next shipment to replenish any products you pulled from your backstock.
